The Journey
From College Hardwood to Sports Business Professional
While immersed in basketball, Bryan had a pivotal realization — the game eventually ends, and athletes must be ready for what comes next. That awareness sparked a personal transformation. He became actively involved in student organizations and began exploring his identity beyond the sport. Though his passion for basketball never faded, he felt called to lead in the sports industry from a broader perspective.
After graduating from Emerson, Bryan pursued dual master's degrees — an MBA and a Master of Science in Sport Business Management — through the prestigious DeVos Sport Business Management Program at the University of Central Florida, graduating in December 2024. While at UCF, he served as class president, worked with the UCF men's basketball team as a Graduate Assistant, and held roles in operations, recruiting, and player development. He also gained experience as a student business consultant, collaborating with major organizations such as the Orlando Magic, the PGA, and Disney.
Through all of these experiences, one truth became clear to Bryan: not every athlete is prepared for life after sports. Many don't realize it until it's too late. That's what inspired him to launch Game Beyond Athletics (GBA) — a camp-style program that combines high-level basketball skill training with off-court development. GBA equips youth athletes with tools for college preparation, identity building, and long-term personal growth — whether or not they continue playing at the next level.
Bryan's mission is rooted in his own story and in the experiences of the athletes he grew up with in Clermont, FL. He created GBA to fill a gap he wishes existed when he was coming up: a resource that not only develops players, but prepares them for life beyond the game.
